An opportunity came one day while Nur Kaoukji and Meshary AlNassar were speaking about each other’s trades, and the idea of a collaboration came up. You see, many, many years ago, while Nur had just completed the interiors of 28 Kothi in Jaipur, a single guest had stood out. A sweetly smiling man approached her and introduced himself as Architect and Interior Designer Meshary AlNassar. A friendship immediately bloomed through each other’s admiration for design, respect for traditional craft, and joint love for Kuwait. Fast forward years on, and Meshary opened his stunning office and showroom in Dubai’s Al Serkal compound. Amidst a sea of beautiful boutiques, galleries, showrooms, and cafes sits Studio Meshary AlNassar, a haven for showcasing talented designers.

It is in this space that he graciously invited us to do a pop-up of our ecru products, opening fittingly on Valentine’s Day 2026. We selected a huge variety of products that spoke to Meshary’s aesthetic. From our wooden teak bowls, his favourite brass Arabic calligraphy candlesticks, our palm etched ice bucket, to our Arabesque eight pointed star mubkhars. The opening night was simply charming, with his studio doors open wide, welcoming all guests and passersby to come in for a gander. We met so many delightful people. Fans of ecru, clients of Meshary’s, couples on their way to a date night, and some people strolling by. The night ended with us absolutely full of pride. Meshary’s team was outstanding, the clients were so enduring, and us at ecru knew we had chosen the perfect partner to represent us in Dubai. To many more Pop-Ups – let’s see where we go next!
